CHARACTER INFO
• Character Name: Damian Wayne
• Character Age: 14
• Character Canon: DC Comic
• Canon Point: Midway through the first issue of Robin (2021), Damian has just arrived on Lazarus Island and encountered Rose Wilson, Respawn and Connor Hawke, but hasn't gotten the chance to fight.
• Character History: I have his background written here. Alternatively, here's a link to his page on the DC wiki
• Character Personality: Provide information about their personality, both negative and positive aspects — with three of each. Give examples of how they've behaved this way. You do not need to provide an essay, but please submit enough to give a feel for the character.
— Honorable: One of the traits that has remained with him through his whole journey as a hero is an underlying belief in honor and fairness. It's a strange and somewhat alien sense of honor that drives him, but he takes responsibility for all the wrongs he's done and he sets out on his journey to make up for them, even though he was a child who couldn't have possibly been expected to know better. He set out on a crusade to travel the world and correct the injustices that he committed or were committed in his name during his initiation into the League of Assassins (Year of Blood). And even amidst his violent impulses and training and his "supervillain instinct", he absolutely despises those who prey on innocent people or pick on those who are weaker than them.
— Compassionate: This is a quality that he always had to some extent, but it was also something he very much learned and refined as he developed more complex opinions on redemption, mercy, justice and vengeance. He often sees his own flaws in other people who struggle with questions of right and wrong, and in his own blunt and often harsh manner, he tries to guide them toward making better choices. There was Sasha in Batman and Robin (2009), a girl who was kidnapped by Professor Pyg and disfigured, who he promised he'd save and then who he inadvertently left behind while attempting to hunt down Pyg. This was his first major failure as a hero, and it is something that eats at him for the rest of the run, even once she joins up with Jason Todd and becomes a villain in her own right. He had a similar arc with Maya Ducard, Suren Darga, Olive Silverlock, Mara Al Ghul, Respawn, Flatline and even his own mother, to varying degrees of success.
— Intelligent: To a frankly comical and ridiculous extent. He could have had a college education before the age of nine but his mother killed his professor, he was leading soldiers into battle at the age of six, he read Sun Tzu as a toddler, he lead a group of heroes in a battle against a cosmic force of darkness and despair that had assimilated several super geniuses, he knew how to drive a car since he was five... It... goes on. Damian is a genius to a somewhat supernatural extent, as a result of an extreme amount of training, genetic tampering, and raw talent.
— Mean: He's a little shit. He's been called this multiple times in his canon, sometimes affectionately, sometimes less so. He can be petty and mean and has a tendency to attack people's insecurities. His response to Deathstroke trying to show him pity after kidnapping him was to mock him for the horrible things that have happened to his family (his son getting his throat slit. his daughter cutting out her own eye, his other son dying, all three of them hating his guts.) Unfortunately, he's a dick. A little less so than he used to be but still a dick.
— Jealous: Damian has a tendency to hide a lot of his jealousy and insecurities behind taunts and played up arrogance about his own capabilities and training, even though both of these came at the result of an extreme amount of abuse. He's jealous of the fact that his siblings were chosen by his dad, and worries that their connection is stronger than his own because his dad had no real choice in taking him in as he was his biological kid. He's also jealous of the way that other heroes are more well adjusted than him, having come from normal civilian backgrounds and being considerably better at having the "right" emotions surrounding their roles (compassion shouldn't turn into anger, killing is never okay, respect the law, you can't save everyone), while he is more prone to giving into his darker feelings.
— Arrogant: This is a bit complicated. His arrogance is the result of correctly identifying his beyond exceptional skill level, and it's part of it is also very much propped up by the way that he was worshipped as the second coming of Alexander the Great, who would lead the world to an age of prosperity. As noted above, it is also very blatantly a smokescreen for the parts of himself that he feels less proud of, like how unnaturally his father's moral system comes to him. It becomes a problem for him because he tends to believe himself superior to people and that can often lead to him majorly underestimating them, not to mention how little his teammates tend to appreciate it when he's constantly adamant that he's smarter than all of them.
• Character Skills: Does your character have any particular skills that might help them in game? Maybe they have knowledge of firearms, carpentry, fishing, maybe foraging or how to make clothes. List them here in bullet-point form:
• Firearms
• Swordplay
• Archery
• Fishing
• Foraging
• Animal care
• Stealth
• Mechanics and repair
• Medicine (Surgery specifically)
• Swimming
• Investigation
• Construction
• Strategy
• Martial arts
• Gymnastics
• (There's a more complete list on his wiki page)
• Character Inventory: Characters may bring THREE items with them. These can be items a character owns, but might not happen to have on their person when they are brought to this world. They may bring tools they may already own to help them survive, or cherished personal items. The clothes they're wearing do not count as a slot, but if they have really good winter coat at home, that would count as a slot.
— ITEM ONE: Utility Belt - He has a fairly limited utility belt going into the Lazarus tournament, only really having his Batarangs and a grappling hook attached to it, but it also has it's uses as a storage device.
— ITEM TWO: His sword. It's a fairly ornate and fancy katana. He had multiple but he's getting one.
— ITEM THREE: A cow named Batcow. He rescued her from a slaughterhouse a few years ago. She has a vaguely bat-like brown shape on her face. She loves him very much and he loves her very much.
• Important Notes: Comics are so goddamn weird.
• Writing Samples: Players must provide TWO prose writing samples. These both must be log threads. Due to the fact there is no network in this game, 'network' or 'texting'-style threads will not be accepted.
— SAMPLE ONE: TDM toplevel + assorted threads

IN CHARACTER
PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Yes, but if he doesn't know or like you, he'll react to this with hostility and potentially violence. Deathstroke ruffled his hair once and he's hated him ever since.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: This is likely.
RELATIONSHIPS: Yes, if the CR is heading that direction.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: He's dealt with psychics before and knows a bit about how to resist them but it's of dubious effectiveness.
MAGICAL INFORMATION: He's got no powers, but he has been known to occasionally make use of magical artifacts and has studied magic and demonology pretty extensively. (It was his special interest when he was like, 8.) He's also been haunted by Alfred Pennyworth's ghost.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: He's got a lot of scars from old injuries, particularly on his chest.
There's also a small mark from when Flatline ripped out his heart. Other than that, he's healthy.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Damian gets pissed at the implication that people can't change, cruelty to animals, child abuse, treating him like an extension of his father.

OUT OF CHARACTER
BACKTAGGING: Yep.
THREADHOPPING: Ask, but generally yep.
FOURTHWALLING: On some level, this is unavoidable due to the extremely meta nature of comics, but treating him like a character in a story and not a person is a surefire way to get kneecapped.
NOT INTERESTED IN: Instant negative CR that goes nowhere, Batcest.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
VISUAL: He's about 5'3, having recently grown, his hair is short but kind of spiky, he has piercing green eyes most of the time, and he's got tanned skin and east asian features.
AURAL: Here's a clip of him bullying a grown man.
OLFACTORY: He smells like leather from his cloak. And probably rainwater, because in Gotham it's always raining.
DEMEANOUR: He can be sharp, rude, sarcastic, and mean when first meeting him. He comes off as arrogant and spoiled when first meeting him, both are mainly a front. More than that, he gives off the vibes of a really troubled kid who is disturbingly mature in most ways and completely hopeless in others. It's the trauma.

IC INFORMATION
Character Name: Damian Al-Ghul Wayne
Species: Human
Canon: DC Comics
Canon Point: Issue #17 of Robin (2021)
Character Age: He's 14, a former child assassin, a superhero in what is easily the worst city in the world, tried to bash the Joker's skull in when he was ten, killed his first person when he was four. He's a child detective and solves any number of grizzly crimes and in general his stories tend to deal very heavily in darker themes, even more so than most of his siblings.
CRAU: No.
Character Appearance: Here's a full body panel. Other details are in my info post.
Powers and Abilities: Damian doesn't have powers, per se, but he does have a special interest in magic and demonology, and has been known to use them as dirty tricks to get a one-up in a fight, but he typically channels them through items. This is something he'll be further developing in game.
What Did Your Character Wish For? For his family to be happy.
What Potion Did They Receive? Gold, it's power would allow him to transform into a bat.
Did They Drink It? Not yet.
Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon? Or who is someone they miss the most?
Dick Grayson, his brother. Damian's father died shortly after Damian met him, and Dick took up the mantle of Batman, making Damian his Robin. They chafed at first because Damian is Damian and they were both grieving, but Dick provided an understanding and encouraging mentor that his father had too much baggage to be for Damian, and it's largely due to his brother's influence that Damian became a hero.
2. What are they most afraid of?
Becoming his parents. And that on some level all the progress he's made has just been for nothing, because he was as an instrument of murder, conquest and genocide.
3. What is their weakness? Emotionally, mentally and physically?
Damian is deeply insecure that his only worth is as a weapon and that people are only willing to give him so many chances because he's blood related to Bruce Wayne. Also, he's deeply prideful, and will sometimes act in a situation before having all the facts because he's already assuming he knows it all.
4. What would make them happiest?
For him and his family to be able to find peace and happiness. (This is impossible on a cosmic level and he's beginning to realize that.) And to be able to actually grow up with Jon and Maya.
5. What’s their type for a lover?
His type tends to be simultaneously haunted and deeply troubled as well as ridiculously powerful. He's fallen for the daughter of a universe conquering god who chose to defy her inner nature, a djinn in human form, and a girl who has the power to talk to ghosts and take their abilities and has lived completely isolated from the living. His other major type is "golden retriever in human form who is still willing to stand up to him."
